Training, recovery, work and company under one roof

One Address.
The Whole Day.

Home and work take most of the hours. TotalFusion South Brisbane is built for what happens in between.

Train across two levels. Move between hot water and cold. Take the meeting between sessions, eat before you leave, and stay as long as the day allows.

This is the highest level of fitout the group has built. Nothing else in the country will compare.

South Brisbane

140 Melbourne Street

A standalone building on the corner of Melbourne and Cordelia, with dedicated member parking on site.

Fish Lane is a four minute walk, twenty public artworks along its length. QPAC, now the largest performing arts centre under one roof in Australia, is a walk from the door, and so is GOMA, the country's largest gallery of modern and contemporary art.

The city is one bridge away. Victoria Bridge runs three hundred metres into it, and carries no private traffic at all.

Reception, cafe and the Social Club

Arrival

The ground floor is stone, from the floor slabs to the reception desk to the bench along the entry wall. Light washes the arched ceiling coves. Brushed bronze runs through the turnstiles, the sconces and the lift surrounds.

Past reception the Social Club opens into a double height corner behind a full wall of sheer drapery. Leather, boucle and stone. It is open to every member, and to anyone who comes in for coffee.

Materials

Feature stone sets the floors and the reception desk. Casentino beech warms the joinery that runs the length of the lockers. Brushed bronze picks up the low light in the sconces, the turnstiles and the tapware.

Balmoral tile, glass brick, smoked mirror, vertical stucco render and open weave drapery complete the palette. Ten finishes, specified for the whole building.

Over two levels

The Gym Floor

Strength, performance and free weights across two levels. Black steel and chrome set inside curved stone portals, under a fully lit ceiling grid. It is the brightest room in the club.

Two dedicated HYROX areas, one on the floor and one in the Functional Studio. A stretch zone sits off the main room, quiet enough to use between sets. Trainers work across the floor.

Six Studios

Six rooms, each built for one thing:

  • Heated Fusion Studio. The club's signature room, and its busiest.
  • Heated Yoga Studio. Heat, and a backlit salt wall the length of the room.
  • Reformer Pilates Studio. Timber framed reformers under a curved timber canopy.
  • Cycle Studio.
  • Functional Studio. Built with HYROX in mind.
  • Run Club Studio.

The wall between Functional and Run Club opens, and two rooms become one floor.

Hot, cold, steam and sauna

The Water

Step off the gym floor and the light drops.

One large hot pool, zoned so the water changes as you move through it. Two cold pools. One at six degrees, one at twelve.

A steam room behind bronze framed glass. Two traditional saunas, one social and one quiet, and infrared saunas in a range of sizes. Day beds line the water indoors.

Six clubs before this one

The Group

TotalFusion was founded by Leon McNiece, who founded Goodlife Health Clubs and brought Snap Fitness to Australia and New Zealand.

Six clubs have followed across Queensland and Melbourne, along with sponsorships of the Brisbane Lions and the Brisbane Bullets. South Brisbane is the seventh.

"When it comes to fitness temples, there are gyms and there are gyms. TotalFusion is the latter."

Four releases, limited numbers

Foundation Membership

Foundation Memberships are released in four stages. Each stage is limited, and closes when it fills. The offer changes with it.

Members who join before the doors open become the club's Foundation Members.

This is the highest level of fitout the group has built. Nothing else in the country will compare.
